A bit about Debra

Debra Porta

Community, equity + organizational growth

Advice rooted in the responsibilities of real leadership.

For nine years, Debra served as the Executive Director of a small but well-known organization serving Oregon and Southwest Washington’s LGBTQIA2S+ community. During that time, the organization expanded year-round programming, developed advocacy for LGBTQIA2S+ people experiencing housing insecurity, launched community resilience initiatives, and built partnerships with grassroots groups across the region.

Before stepping into that executive role, Debra served eight years as board president. That dual perspective shapes her consulting approach: governance, staffing, fundraising, and community accountability all need to work together for an organization to thrive.

Today, Debra focuses on supporting small and emerging organizations, especially groups with big vision and limited capacity. Her work helps leaders grow sustainably without losing sight of their mission.
